How do you face down abuse and religious extremism as a child? And where does the responsibility lie? With the Church doctrine that facilitates the abuse, or the people who perpetrate the abuse?
I discussed this and more during my recent interview on Mormon Expression with Tom Perry and Stephanie Durden Edwards.
They were both incredible interviewers who made me think about my experiences growing up in the Mormon Church and surviving an abusive Mormon stepfather – the basis for my forthcoming memoir, HIPPIE BOY – in a different light.

It was great that you were willing to come on the show and share some of your experiences with us Ingrid! Unfortunately, I’m afraid your experiences aren’t quite as rare as I would hope.
I wish you all the best!
Talk to you soon.
